Intensive English Learning Progam

We are deeply committed to understanding and responding to the needs of our community. As our community evolved, we recognised the growing number of students requiring additional support to develop their English language skills. In response, the school proudly established an Intensive English Learning Program in 2023, creating a welcoming and supportive pathway for students who are new to Australia. This program reflects our belief in inclusion, belonging, and opportunity, ensuring every student is given the confidence, care, and targeted support they need to thrive both academically and socially within our school community.

Newly arrived primary school students can enrol in an Intensive English Language Program (IELP).  The program helps students by providing:

-intensive English language support from specialist teachers of English as an additional language or dialect (EALD)

-a modified curriculum for school aged children

-a variety of activities within the school and local community, including excursions and social events

-bilingual classroom support.

Classes are small and students generally stay in the program for up to one year. Some students are eligible for more than one year in the program.
